If there’s one thing I have learned over the years, it’s that you can’t be the best version of yourself unless you first take care of yourself. I am always reminding myself that it’s NECESSARY to put yourself first sometimes. Self-care is so important and quite honestly it’s something I don’t excel at. So, although I am writing this post for you, I am also writing it for myself!
SO…Let’s get started! Here are 5 of my best self-care tips:
Okay, I’ll admit, I’m not a huge fan of being out in the cold during the winter months. You’ll probably never see me outside for fun Nov-March (I’ll probably be inside cuddled up) BUT when there are nicer days, getting outside is such a game changer, even if it’s just for a short walk.
READ A BOOK
I get it, this one is hard. Especially being in school, I don’t want anything to do with books if it doesn’t have to do with class. But, I have recently started reading Girl, Wash Your Face and I’m telling you, it’s GOOD.
I love doing anything active, and maybe getting a little sweaty too. I will say, I don’t necessarily like going to the gym and hopping on a treadmill, but finding a fun workout online, and listening to a good playlist certainly helps.
GO ON A DATE
Round up your boyfriend, husband, or girl gang and spend time with people you love! The best way to truly treat yourself is to spend time with the people who are closest to you. So, go spend quality time with your people, and fill yourself up again!
This is definitely the most important, (I think). It allows you to take care of yourself in a way specific to you. So, whether it’s buying yourself a new pair of shoes, or getting yourself that latte you’ve desperately needed all week, go get it! You deserve it!
