The dreaded winter months are here and I am here to give you the best product to use for dry skin! I have extremely dry skin, and during the colder months it almost becomes unbearable. I lather myself in lotion, just to do it again the next day.
I was desperately trying to find something to help my face from getting flaky, and I hated the way makeup was looking on my super dry skin. I went to Sephora and found a new brand, The Inky List thanks to the employee working that night- It is similar to The Ordinary’s price point, but she was raving about the brand and convinced me that I needed to try the Hyaluronic Acid. I caved, because it was only $7.99, so I had really nothing to lose. I got home and researched Hyaluronic Acid as I know of the name since it is in a lot of my products, but I was not sure what it exactly did. Basically, it is a serum that locks in moisture to plump and hydrate the skin. It is best to use after a shower, or in areas with a lot of moisture.
My favorite time to use it is right after a shower before I dry my face off, I use a small amount and after it is dried I then top it with a night cream to add extra moisture and lock it all in. I do this three times a week and have truly noticed such a difference in my skin! It is safe to say it is officially added to my skincare regime. If you live in a climate like Florida where there is a lot of moisture, you can use it twice a day. Since it is pretty dry during the winter, up in the midwest it can actually make your skin more dry as it will start to pull the moisture from within your body and not from the air. (I would love to get a face humidifier and use it to see what it does, I have a feeling it would be amazing!!) I will definitely be trying more from this brand, so be sure to look out for more reviews!!
My skincare routine:
Wash face with philosophy face wash, sometimes double cleanse with the neutrogena hydro boost cleanser, then use the hyaluronic acid right out of the shower, and use a thick night cream when it dries. On nights I don’t use it, I just add the cream!
